About the Artist:

Joy Cotton was born in Los Angeles, California, and spent the first eight years of her adolescence there. In 2006, she and her family relocated to Nebraska, where she has been living ever since. As a multi-media artist, Joy’s paintings are known for their thought-provoking blend of fashion, surrealism, dreams, and whimsy. She is a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Omaha and is actively involved in the Omaha arts community, often collaborating with other artists and organizations. In recent years, Joy has worked on various projects with the Omaha Summer Arts Festival (OSAF) Cube murals, Benson First Friday (BFF), Midtown Crossing Sunny Chair project, Amplify Arts Alternate Currents Working Group (ACWG) for 2022-2023/2024, American Civil Liberties Union Nebraska (ACLUNE), and Amplify Arts Community Advisory Group (CAG).
